2018 Summer Learning Challenge Kickoffs June 1

Columbia, SC- As the school year comes to an end and the unofficial start to summer arrives, Richland Library is encouraging children, teens and adults to keep their minds active and engaged. From June 1 – August 19, make your own adventure during the 2018 Summer Learning Challenge.

Your mission is to track points online at richlandlibrary.com/summer. Earn one point for:
every 30 minutes that you read
every library program that you attend
There are more than 1,000 programs to choose from this summer. Click here to see what’s planned at the location that is closest to you.

Once you have accumulated 30 points, you can claim a prize at any Richland Library location. Prizes vary from coloring pencils and a foam ball to a jump rope and USB charger. In addition, one lucky child is walking away with the grand prize of a 24″ mountain bike while one teen or one adult from each location is going to win a $25 gift card.

Participants also have the option to forgo a prize and Read It Forward where Richland Library donates a book to a local non-profit on your behalf.

More than 23,000 people registered for the 2017 Summer Learning Challenge. Good luck, and we can’t wait to see you at the finish line!
