They say confession is good for the soul but is that peace worth the risk?
Find out when WOW (Walking on Water) Productions brings “Confessions of a Good Man” to the stage live at Harbison Theatre July 25th – 28th.
Inspired by the book “The Evolution of a Good Man” by author Kevin A. Rasberry and starring national Gospel Recording artist Blanche McAllister-Dykes, of the Grammy nominated group Donald Lawrence & Company, “Confessions of a Good Man” exposes the thoughts and perspectives of both men and women on the matter of love and relationships.
“Confessions” is the second production in WOW’s 2013 season and proves, yet again, why WOW productions is now regarded as South Carolina’s premier theater production company. The play was co-written and produced by WOW founders Tangie Beatty and Donna Johnson who, together, have established themselves as a formidable team in the arts world. The two have not only produced a dynamic production in their July 2013 show but they have single handedly lead the rebirth of traditional African American theater. The two have adopted a fresh and entertaining approach to telling the stories that speak directly to the heart of the matters most relevant to the black community.
Always humble, Beaty and Johnson prefer to stay in the background and keep the spotlight on their casts but there is no denying their ability to bring out the star in every actor they put on the stage. The talents of the likes of Regina Skeeters, Dana Bufford, Rod Lorick and William Young have been cultivated through their WOW Productions performances and will be on display once again when they take the stage for “Confessions.”
Already being hailed as their best production to date, “Confessions” is sure to have audiences laughing, crying, singing and reflecting on their own attitudes on what defines a good man.
The four show schedule is expected to sell out as WOW performances are apt to do and is guaranteed to further solidify the Beaty and Johnson as rising stars in the world of performing arts. So in a word, Tyler Perry better watch out.
“Confessions of a Good Man” opens with a VIP performance on Thursday, July 25 and runs until Sunday, July 28. VIP tickets are $30. Preferred seating tickets are $23 in advance, $25 at the door. General seating tickets are $20 in advance, $22 at the door.
