Fatherless girls summit will help heal wounds and redefine live

(Columbia, SC) – Global life and success strategist, Angela Carr Patterson, is on a mission to help elevate the awareness of the negative impact that fatherlessness has on a females life while helping to decrease its long term effects. She will accomplish this through hosting The 2nd Annual Fatherless Girls Summit on June 11, 2016, at the Springhill Suites Downtown Vista in Columbia, SC.

The one-day summit is designed to help girls 12-19 reclaim their worth, redefine who they are, and rewrite a new narrative for their lives beyond being fatherless.

Females Who Grow Up Fatherless Are:

Eight times more likely to go to prison, Five times more likely to commit suicide, 20 times more like to have behavioral problems, 32 times more likely to run away, 10 times more likely to abuse chemical substances, Nine times more likely to drop out of high school, 33 times more likely to be seriously abused, 73 times more likely to be fatally abused, On average have a 44% higher mortality rate and On average have a 73% lower standard of living.

“Our girls are in a crisis,” says Carr Patterson, founder of the Fatherless Daughters Network, a community of Fatherless Daughter Advocates that serve and support women and girls with an unattached, emotionally unavailable, or absent father.

She points to dire statistics that plague fatherless girls: 71 percent teen pregnancies, 72 percent lower standard of living, and five times more likely to commit suicide. Fatherless girls also have a higher percentage of being seriously, and often fatally, abused.
