Global Life and Success Strategist, Angela Carr Patterson, is on a mission to rewrite the tragic story of fatherlessness among women and girls through The Fatherless Girls Summit Six City Tour that kicked off on March 25th in Charlotte, NC and will end in Chicago, IL on August 5th. Their next stop is Pasadena, CA on April 29th at The Pasadena City College. The one day, two event experience is designed to help women and girls reclaim their worth, redefine who they are and rewrite a new narrative for their lives beyond their fatherlessness.

Angela defines a fatherless daughter as a female who grew up with an unattached, unavailable or absent father. She recognizes that we all have a biological father, but when the term fatherless daughter is used, it simply means the father is not present emotionally or physically in the daughter’s life, leaving her feeling unfathered.

“We are in a crisis when it comes to women and girls,” says Carr Patterson, founder of the Fatherless Daughters Network, a movement aimed at elevating the awareness of the negative effects fatherlessness has on a female’s life and offering support/services to decrease its long-term impact.

Angela points to the dire statistics that plague fatherless girls: 71 percent teen pregnancies, 72 percent lower standard of living, and five times more likely to commit suicide. Fatherless girls also have a higher percentage of being seriously, and often fatally, abused. “We cannot read statistics like this and turn away,” says Carr Patterson, who grew up without her biological father. She chronicled her story in her 2014 book release, I’m Not That Woman…A Fatherless Daughter’s Journey to Being. Over the years, Angela has hosted and produced numerous events for fatherless women and girls, including her highly acclaimed Fatherless Girls Summit which has received rave reviews. She’s also the creator of the groundbreaking work, “The Journey to Being Process™”, a comprehensive curriculum designed to help women and girls heal their old daddy wounds and move to a place of love, acceptance, and forgiveness. Angela and her certified Fatherless Daughter Advocates travel the country teaching this result driven to program to countless women and girls.
