Just Democrats, a South Carolina-based coordinating group, will host a SC Special Elections Launch/Field Campaign Training on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at 3pm at Brookland Baptist Health and Wellness Center, 1050 Sunset Blvd., West Columbia, South Carolina.

Democratic candidates in the four 2017 special elections set for South Carolina will participate. The event will also recruit volunteers to help with the canvassing needs of these campaigns. Experienced political field managers will provide on-site training for volunteers, who will then be connected to County

Party and campaign leaders present at the event, for ‘boots on the ground’ assignment.

All Democratic candidates who filed by the deadline were invited. The following is a list of confirmed participants and events at this date:

SC House – 48th District, covering part of York County (formerly Ralph Norman) Ms. Bebs Chorak (participating live electronically)

SC House – 70th District, covering parts of Richland and Sumter Counties (formerly the late Joseph H. Neal)

Erin Vance Brown, H. Heath Hill, Norman S. Jackson, Patrick Morris, Harry Reese, Sr., and Levola S.Taylor

SC House – 84th District, covering part of Aiken County

Jennifer Lariscey

US House – 5th Congressional District, covering all of Cherokee, Chester, Fairfield, Kershaw, Lancaster, Lee, Union and York counties, most of Sumter County and portions of Newberry and Spartanburg counties.

In addition, Democratic candidates for special elections in California, Georgia, and Montana, and 2018 races in Florida and Illinois have been invited to participate and issue greetings. Stephanie Hansen, the new Democratic Senator-Elect from Delaware whose defeat of a Republican candidate electrified the nation, and James Thompson, the Democratic candidate for Kansas House Seat Congressional District 4, will participate electronically
