The Lower Richland Sweet Potato Festival Brings Thousands Together for Family Fun

Hopkins, SC (April 6, 2016) – The Lower Richland Sweet Potato Festival & Parade is back again for the 31st year to bring the community and families together on Saturday, April 30th . The fun takes place at Hopkins Park at 6940 Lower Richland Blvd from 11am to 6pm.  Admission is FREE and the parade begins at 11am. This family-friendly event is an opportunity to give back to the community and enjoy a health fair, free carnival rides, and live musical entertainment from local high schools and the Benedict College Marching Band. Come out and enjoy delicious treats including Sweet Potato Ice Cream and Sweet Potato Pie! A wide variety of vendors will be present. The featured guest of the day is the renowned gospel ensemble Doc McKenzie and the Hi-Lites. Other performers include the following:

This festival is made possible with the support of local businesses including Tri-County Electric Cooperative, Chick-fil-a at 7424 Garners Ferry Road, and funds from the Richland County Hospitality Tax Fund.
