Palmetto State local tapped to write for Democratic National Convention Official Blog

Catherine Fleming Bruce of Columbia, SC will head to Philadelphia to serve as writer for the 2016 Democratic National Convention Host Committee’s official blog when the Opening gavel falls each evening from Monday, June 25 to Thursday, June 28th.

Bruce joins the social media team that is a new volunteer category for the Host Committee.  The team supports the official blog, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat, with a full complement of photographers, videographers, GIF creators, graphic designer and digital editors.

Catherine Fleming Bruce is author of The Sustainers: Being, Building and Doing Good through Activism in the Sacred Spaces of Civil Rights, Human Rights and Social Movements, published 2016.. Social media groups she runs on politics include ‘Good Governance in South Carolina 2016’, launched in 2010, and ‘Progressive Party and Movement Politics: a space for South Carolina ideas’. Her commentary has appeared in the Statehouse Report, the Free Times and other publications. She has produced for SCETV and independently.
