Save Our Water Pint Night at W.O.B – Wednesday, October 18, 2017 from 5 PM – 9 PM at World of Beer – The Vista, 902 Gervais Street Suite F, Columbia, South Carolina 29201. It’s the second to last Save Our Water event… Join us at World of Beer – The Vista on Wednesday to enjoy a few SweetWater Brewing Company pints, pick up some tickets for the kayak raffle, and support Congaree Riverkeeper’s work for clean water and healthy rivers.

W.O.B. will be donating $1 for every sweetwater pint purchased and each pint also earns you a raffle ticket for an awesome SweetWater/Tribe kayak.


2nd Act Film Festival 2017 – Thursday, October 19, 2017 from 7 PM – 11 PM at 701 Whaley, 701 Whaley St, Columbia, SC 29201. The 2nd act Film Festival is a one of a kind filmmaking project. Now in its fourth year, the 2017 2nd Act Film Festival will showcase 10 6-minute films created by the 10 filmmaking teams specially selected to participate in this year’s project.
Our previous years played to standing room only crowds, and this year’s festival promises overflow crowds once again. It’s a great casual time to sit back and enjoy a night of some of South Carolina’s best independent film.* With an exciting new venue at The Market at 701 Whaley and the bar provided by The Whig, North America’s best dive bar, this year’s fest promises to be the most exciting yet.

Tickets from $10 – $75.*Children under 13 years of age are not encouraged to attend as some of the subject matter may be too mature for that audience.

Loading Dock Live! – Thursday, October 19, 2017 from 6 PM – 8 PM at The Township Auditorium, 1703 Taylor St, Columbia, South Carolina 29203. The Township Auditorium Foundation will be presenting the Finesse Band Thursday, October 19th. This FREE concert will take place in the loading dock area directly behind the Township Auditorium. Don’t miss a night of great fun, and while you are there ask about getting involved with the Township Foundation. Gates 5:30 pm Show 6:00 pm

Act-So Columbia Open House & Kickoff – Thursday, October 19,  2017 from 7 PM – 8:15 PM at  Richland Library, 1431 Assembly St, Columbia, South Carolina 29201.  ACT-SO Columbia is a yearlong mentoring and achievement program for high school students where they demonstrate academic, artistic, and scientific expertise for a chance to compete nationally and win scholarships & prizes.

Come learn more about the ACT-SO Columbia Olympic Mentoring Program for high school students. Spend just 1 hour with us so we can share with you how we plan to enhance the lives of kids in Columbia. Our Open House is open to high school students, parents, potential mentors and/or anyone interested in hearing more about our program. This event is FREE.
