GaBBY Bows Launch & Workshop – Saturday, November 18, 2017 at EdVenture,  211 Gervais St, Columbia, SC 29201. This Saturday, November 18, we are excited to welcome Gabrielle Goodwin owner of GaBBY Bows to EdVenture. She will be presenting her workshop BIG Courage: Six Ways I went from being a Shy Kid to a Kid CEO starting at 11:00am and afterwards a book signing for her book “Gabby invents the Perfect Hair Bow”. Bring the kids out to support Columbia’s very own Kidpreneur. Gabby Bows will also be sold here at our Etcetera gift shop. The perfect holiday gift for any little girl!

Echoes of the Past, Present, and Future: An African Experience – Saturday, November 18, 2017 from 6-7:15 pm at Lourie Center SC, 1650 Park Cir (Maxcy Gregg Park), Columbia, South Carolina 29201.  Queen T, leader and principal dancer for Gye Nyame Ensemble, has assembled an incredible roster of local and regional dancers, drummers, and storyteller talent for this one-night-only event. “Echoes of the Past, Present, and Future”, will feature traditional west African dances from Mali, Guinea, and Liberia, and will highlight the spiritual journey of west Africa through song, dance, and story. The performance features guest artists Danvin Lail, musical director for Oneaka Dance Company, Charlotte, North Carolina and the Adande West African Dance Drummers, of North Charleston, South Carolina, led by Jesse L. Thrower.

“You do not want to miss this stimulating evening of celebrating African culture through dance and drum”, assures Queen T. Doors open at 5 pm. Show begins promptly at 6 pm . Artist’s Reception after performance, 7:15-8:30 pm. Beer/wine cash bar available. Tickets are available online or at the Lourie Center, $12.50 each in advance. At the door, tickets to available seats will be sold at $15 each.

South Carolina Oyster Festival – Sunday, November 19, 2017 from 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM at Robert Mills House and Gardens / Hampton – Preston Mansion, 1615 Blanding Street, Columbia, SC 29201. Columbia, SC’s largest outdoor oyster roast featuring steamed oysters for sell by the bucket brought to you by PEARLZ Oyster Bar. Also enjoy oyster shooters, fried oysters, and other oyster items for purchase once inside the festival.

If oysters are not your thing, choose from several other food vendors and ice cold beer for sale. Bring your chairs, blankets, oyster knives, and appetite to the 22nd annual event. Enjoy the historic grounds of two of Columbia’s most beautiful house museums.  Admission fee includes entry to the grounds and live music all day on 2 stages. Please visit Eventbrite for more info.

MSAASC Annual Thanksgiving Community Feeding – Sunday, November 19, 2017 from 2 PM – 6 PM at Eau Claire High 4800 Monticello Rd, Columbia, South Carolina 29203. As many of you know every year we do the Annual Thanksgiving Community Dinner at Eau Claire High School this year we continue into our 6th year feeding the community. This event would not be possible without YOU. We are asking clubs, organizations, businesses, chapters, lodges, friends and family to help us make this event as successful as the ones in the past. We will be providing a menu that consist of Turkey, Chicken, Rice, Corn, Yams, String Beans, Mac & Cheese along with deserts, drinks and entertainment for the kids and adults. If you or your club would like to be involved PLEASE SIGN up for food items to help.

Women’s Empowerment 2.0  – Sunday, November 19, 2017 from 4 PM – 7 PM at South Carolina State House, 1201 Main St, Columbia, South Carolina 29201. Its that time again ladies! And I want it to be bigger and better than last year! I’m inviting the ladies of The Queens Photography and I’m opening of the opportunity for other vendors to partake in this special occasion. I want to invite you all to come out and create this piece of art with me. I’m extremely excited and hope that I can get as many on board as possible. I would like to capture an image that displays, happiness, grace, power, beauty and most importantly strength. I would like for you to either wear all white or all black and accessorize with gold.

 want lots of melanin to radiate through! I would also like to have women from all ages, so invite your friends, mothers and aunts! I want it to embody the one thing I find to be the most beautiful thing on this earth, black women! If have any questions feel free to ask!
