(Columbia, SC) – The South Carolina Black History Parade & Festival will return for its 20th year.
The twentieth annual “Karamu! Celebrate!” statewide Black History Parade and Festival will be held on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2025, in Columbia, S.C., through the historic Waverly and Five Points communities.
The Grand Marshal for 2025 will be the Honorable Senator Maggie Glover, the first African American woman elected to the South Carolina Senate. Grand Marshals, parade participants, local entertainers, and vendors from across the state and past years will join in celebrating the GRAND FINALE of this historic event.
To add a special touch to this year’s festivities, comedian Annie McKnight will bring her unique blend of drama, comedy, and stand-up to entertain attendees. More information about her can be found at www.anniemcknight.com.
Parade participants and vendors are still being accepted, and registration continues. Applications to participate must be submitted by Friday, Feb. 14, 2025.

Floats can be obtained from Southeastern Float Co. at 803-917-0644. However, decorated trucks, cars, bikes, walking groups, and marching bands are also encouraged to participate.
