AfricStyle Initiatives presents 4th Annual AfricStyle Fashion Show

AfricStyle Initiatives will host their fourth Annual AfricStyle Fashion Show on Saturday, February 4, 2017 from 4:00 pm – 9:00 pm at Richland Northeast High School located at 7500 Brookfield Road Columbia, SC 29223.

In a day that promises to be filled with culture, inspiration and fun; artists of all mediums, fashion designers and culinary experts will come together to share with the Midlands authentic African music, dance, food and fashion. The fashion show is always the highlight of the day and will feature hand crafted items made with African prints. Many of the fashions to be displayed will be made by students within the AfricStyle program or entrepreneurs from rural communities across the US and parts of West and South Africa.

The day’s entertainment will culminate in the recognition of a deserving woman who has been working to make a difference in the community and who’s consistent work comes even as she strives to be a living example of second chances and success.

The AfricStyle Fashion Show was founded by Serwah Armah-Koranteng. Serwah is originally from Ghana West-Africa and is an established businessperson, entrepreneur, investor, designer, and caterer. Serwah aims to educate, empower and promote African culture in its entirety from food, fashion, and entertainment; and her health seminars and commitment to addressing social needs are a cornerstone of her mission to serve the community.

AfricStyle is currently looking for local designers, artists (visual and musical), models, make-up artists, vendors, sponsors, and volunteers to be a part of the 2017 event.

While the fashion show is the organization’s signature event, as a nonprofit, AfricStyle Initiatives also strives to promote African culture locally and create a community of support for individuals from Ghana, West Africa and other members of the African Diaspora, seeking a place to call their own.14322592_10153809011346717_2160047935172968643_n

As a fundraiser, the show generates resources and awareness of the organization and its mission. In support of its mission, AfricStyle Initiatives will also be collecting canned goods, personal items and toiletries. Monetary donations are also welcome and appreciated.

Admission to the 2016 AfricStyle fashion show is $20 for general access and $30 for VIP privileges.  Vendor tables are $80. Additional pricing and sponsorship levels are available on the official Eventbrite Page.
