(Atlanta, GA) – For generations, Black men have driven political and social change, yet our voices are too often ignored when leadership decisions are made. Black Men’s Agenda 2028 (BMA2028) is changing that. We’ve assembled a powerful coalition of Black-led and Black male-focused organizations from the key battleground states of Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania, launching an unprecedented strategic initiative to leverage the collective political power of Black men in America.
We’ve entered a new era—one where Black men refuse to be political pawns, disregarded until election season. In the last presidential race, Vice President Kamala Harris secured only 78% of the Black male vote, while Donald Trump made historic gains. The message was clear: our vote is no longer a foregone conclusion—it must be earned.
No party can take us for granted. Black men are now a formidable voting bloc, and our support must be won through real action, not empty promises. We demand results. We expect accountability. Candidates seeking our votes must prove their commitment with tangible policies that uplift our communities—not just rhetoric when it’s convenient.
The days of blind loyalty are over. Our political power is real, and we intend to use it.
Why South Carolina?
BMA2028 will begin on-the-ground organizing and outreach in South Carolina because it is the political epicenter of the early primary process. As the first-in-the-nation Democratic primary state and a key player in the Republican nomination battle, South Carolina serves as the critical battlefield where national political momentum is built. By engaging early in South Carolina, we create an opportunity for the concerns and issues of Black communities in key battleground states—communities that are often overlooked until the general election—to be heard by the candidates while they are still vying for their party’s nomination.
Candidates spend considerable time in South Carolina, shaping their platforms and engaging with voters. This provides a crucial window for ensuring that the next Democratic and Republican nominees have a deep understanding of the priorities of Black voters beyond South Carolina—especially in states where Black voices have historically been ignored until late in the election cycle. By making our presence felt early, we ensure that Black communities have a voice in selecting the candidates, rather than merely reacting to those who are chosen.
This is not just about casting votes—it’s about controlling the narrative and shaping the policies that will impact Black men, our families, and our communities for generations to come. We refuse to be ignored.
