Orangeburg, S.C. – The City of Orangeburg, in collaboration with Orangeburg County and the Orangeburg Historical Society, is proud to announce the inaugural Orangeburg Heritage Festival: Roots, Culture and Rhythms on Friday, June 19 from 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM in Downtown Orangeburg on the square at Russell Street. This historic celebration will commemorate Juneteenth, honoring the emancipation of enslaved Africans while celebrating the rich culture, fortitude, and contributions of Black communities to our country. The festival will bring together residents and visitors for a day of reflection, education and community fellowship.
Attendees may expect a variety of activities designed to engage all ages, including live entertainment, food vendors, local businesses, cultural exhibits, and opportunities for community connection. The itinerary includes a tour of the SC Civil Rights Museum, an all-faiths peace and unity walk, an oratorical contest, line dancing, a fashion and hair show, a spoken word and talent showcase, Greek strolls, recognition of Mr. and Mrs. Heritage Festival, and more. The festival aims to establish a meaningful and lasting tradition in Orangeburg that honors both the past and celebrates the future.

I invite everyone to join us in Downtown Orangeburg as we celebrate unity, culture, and community.”
