(Columbia, SC) — Voters will have an opportunity to hear directly from candidates vying for an At-Large seat on Columbia’s City Council during a public forum scheduled for Wednesday, September 24, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Nickelodeon Theater in downtown Columbia.
Hosted by the South Carolina Restaurant & Lodging Association, The Post and Courier Columbia, the Columbia Chamber of Commerce, and the League of Women Voters of the Columbia Area, this moderated forum will feature the three candidates on the ballot: Dr. Aditi Bussells (incumbent), Sam Johnson, and Jared Lee Johnson.
The forum promises to be an engaging and informative conversation, focusing on issues that directly impact Columbia residents and business owners, including workforce development, public safety, tourism, and business regulation. Structured questions, timed responses, and opportunities for light rebuttals are designed to promote thoughtful, in-depth discussion and allow candidates to share their vision for the city.
Doors open at 4:00 p.m. for registration, and the forum will begin promptly at 4:30 p.m. Admission is free, but pre-registration is required to reserve a seat.
This event offers a key opportunity for community members to get informed, ask questions, and help shape the conversation ahead of the upcoming election.
