Columbia Police Department will be conducting public safety checkpoints this weekend

Friday and Saturday, CDP officers will conduct public safety checkpoints throughout the city.

According to CPD’s Twitter account, the department will work with Richland County Sheriff’s Office and South Carolina Department of Public Safety. Citywide efforts are being made to reduce and deter traffic violations, including speeding and reckless driving.

The CPD did not provide additional information about the locations and times of the checkpoints.
