(Columbia, SC) – The Central Midlands Regional Transit Authority (The COMET) received two awards at the Live United Awards hosted by United Way of the Midlands at Central Energy recently.

The COMET’s United Way Campaign efforts were led by Angela Jacobs, who in her first year serving as campaign director, was also nominated for Campaign Director of the Year. “The United Way does an impeccable job of serving the Midlands and we are honored to partner with them,” said Maurice Pearl, Executive Director/CEO of The COMET, “Much credit goes to Ms. Jacobs for her dedication and hard work leading our team in this effort. It just underscores The COMET ‘s commitment to being good community stewards. We are proud to accept these honors.”
