(North Charleston, SC) — Courtney Waters has officially secured her seat in the South Carolina House of Representatives for District 113 following Tuesday night’s special election. Running unopposed, Waters claimed a decisive victory with more than 90% of the vote, according to unofficial results from the South Carolina Election Commission.
Waters steps into the role formerly held by Marvin Pendarvis, who resigned in September after the South Carolina Supreme Court suspended his law license due to allegations of legal malpractice.
Despite the low voter turnout, Waters’ win marks a new chapter for District 113. The only alternative on the ballot was a write-in option, underscoring her dominant support within the community.
