Democratic Candidate Announces Run for SC State Treasurer

(Columbia, SC) — Rosalyn L. Glenn, (D) President and CEO of Glenn Destiny Consulting, LLC, and a registered investment advisor, will file for the office of South Carolina State Treasurer on Thursday, March 29 at 3:30 PM at the State Election Commission, located at 1122 Lady Street in Columbia. A campaign reception will follow at 4:30 PM at 1801 Grille Street, located at 700 Lincoln Street in Columbia.  Currently, she is the only Democratic candidate to challenge the Republican incumbent in the November 6, 2018, General Election.

“I am excited to offer my financial expertise in service to the State of South Carolina. It is imperative that the State Treasurer has a strong financial background in order to carry out the responsibilities of the office,” says Glenn.  Rosalyn is the proud daughter of Robert and Carolyn Glenn, the middle sibling of Renea and Chris Glenn, sister-in-law to Toni Glenn, and aunt to Christian and Joshua Glenn. She believes strongly in family and attributes much of her life success to the lessons taught and inspired by her family.  She was born in Wellford (SC) and is a lifelong resident of South Carolina. Rosalyn is a graduate of the University of South Carolina, a Financial Services Certified Professional (FSCP) and former CEO of the Brookland Federal Credit Union.

No novice to the financial sector, Rosalyn has left an indelible mark.  As an entrepreneur, she has grown her business by developing financial strategies to help build wealth for thousands of South Carolina’s citizens, businesses, churches and non-profit organizations. She has more than 25 years of financial expertise and uses her training to enhance the lives of South Carolinians and its communities.  Rosalyn utilized her financial experience to lead the Credit Union Task Force in securing a federal charter to operate Brookland Federal Credit Union. Ultimately, she became the President and CEO of the Brookland Federal Credit Union, and under her leadership, it reached $3.1 million in assets with more than 1,700 members.

She is a 30-year member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated (an organization with more than 100 years of public service on the local, regional and national levels) and was elected to serve as the South Atlantic Regional Member of Delta’s National Finance Committee-covering three states, South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia.

“With your help, I look forward to raising the bar for financial responsibility, renewing trust and integrity in leadership, and rebuilding relationships.”
