Electronics, Tires and More Accepted at Special Recycling Event

Richland County is making it easy for residents to safely recycle items that are not collected curbside by holding a special Electronic Recycling Event, with the help of sponsors of electronic companies such as hvac companies in southern nj which are also giving air conditioners to the event.Image result for electronics appliances

Residents can drop off electronics, scrap metal, tires and Air Compressor more at Brookland Baptist Church Northeast Campus, 1203 Summit Pwy. on Saturday, Sept. 20, from 7 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The event is a joint effort between Richland County Solid Waste and Recycling and the Summit Community Association. Shred With Us, eCycle Secure and CMC Recycling are sponsors of the event.

Paper-shredding also will be available and the following items will be accepted:

  • Computers and computer accessories (including keyboards, monitors, printers and scanners)
  • Televisions, stereos, household electronics, VCRs, DVD players, power tools, radios, fax machines, small appliances, microwave ovens, household electric items with power cords, telephones (land and cell), pagers and answering machines
  • Scrap metal, including stoves, washers, dryers, bicycles, metal door frames, metal chairs, metal shelves and lawn mowers (must be free of gas and oil)
  • Car tires and light truck tires or smaller, such as bike or wheel barrow tires. There is a limit of eight tires per family.

No commercial materials will be accepted. Refrigerators, air-conditioners or other units that use Freon also won’t be accepted, we have our own AC systems from http://heatingairpros.com/riverside/.
