(Batesburg-Leesville, SC) – Business professionals, church leaders, and educators gathered recently to learn more about how to find resources and secure funding for their organizations and projects. The Center of Excellence for Educator Preparation and Innovation hosted a grant-writing workshop at its headquarters in Batesburg-Leesville.
Dr. Damara Hightower Mitchell, Chief Executive Officer of the EPI Center, states that attendees learned how to create competitive proposals in what can be a challenging and competitive process.
“Having the skills to research and secure additional funding resources is becoming more valuable to meet the growing needs of non-profit organizations and for-profit businesses alike. The EPI Center has experienced some success in this area and knows the importance of having multiple revenue streams,” said Dr. Hightower Mitchell. “The session kicked off EPI’s ‘Edupreneur Series,’ designed to harness the power of education, business, and leadership to drive meaningful community impact. Attendees walked away equipped with tools to craft compelling narratives, write fiscally responsible budgets, measure outcomes effectively, and more.”
Highlights of the GrantED: Science and Strategy of Winning Proposals workshop included: Navigating the Federal Grant Landscape, Essential Components of Proposal Development, Establishing Federal Accounts, and a Review of Resources.
Participating organizations were the Batesburg-Leesville Chamber of Commerce, Christ Community Church, Custom Comfort LLC, Encounter247, Milbe LLC, SOCKS International LLC, Twin City Smile, and Voorhees University.
