City Year Columbia

City Year partners with public schools to provide additional resources to under-resourced schools with high levels of student need. In Columbia, City Year recruits a diverse group of young adults to serve full-time on teams of eight AmeriCorps members in three local schools for one academic year. City Year’s Whole School Whole Child services are based on leading research, youth development best practices, and three decades of service in schools and communities. Research shows that providing students with positive, caring adult relationships at school, academic support, and opportunities to develop social-emotional skills can keep students on track to graduate from high school prepared for success in college, career, and life.
