Join the South Carolina Commission for Minority Affairs, the Filipino American Association of Greater Columbia, and the Columbia Museum of Art for a celebration honoring Filipino American History Month on Saturday, October 22, 2022, beginning at 9 a.m. at Boyd Plaza (1515 Main St., Columbia, SC 29201).

The free, family-friendly event features a showcase of traditional clothing and items from the Philippines, interactive arts and craft sessions, live traditional Filipino dances, and more!

Schedule of Activities

9 a.m. to 10 a.m.: View traditional clothing and items from the Philippines at our exhibitor’s booth

10 a.m. to 11 a.m.: Learn how to create the Filipino lantern “Parol” and Filipino mats “Banig”

11 a.m. to 12 p.m.: Enjoy traditional Filipino dances by the Filipino American Association of Greater Columbia dance group

12 p.m. to 1 p.m.: Join us for a “Tinikling” dance lesson
