(Columbia, S.C.) – Flock and Rally, the women-owned integrated communications and marketing agency based in Columbia, South Carolina, recently earned a Mercury Award and two Silver Wing Awards from the S.C. Public Relations Society of America (SCPRSA) as well as two Silver ADDY Awards from the American Advertising Federation (AAF) of the Midlands.

“Our agency has grown exponentially in the last few years, and it’s rewarding to see our staff, project partners and clients receive recognition for their ingenuity, skill and creativity with these campaigns,” notes Merritt McNeely, executive vice president at Flock and Rally. “We love to help our clients level up, and these awards are a wonderful way to celebrate our collaborative efforts.”

SCPRSA hosted its annual Mercury Awards celebration on April 28, 2022, and AAF of the Midlands hosted its annual American Advertising Awards gala on Feb. 19, 2022.

SCPRSA Mercury Awards

At the SCPRSA Mercury Awards, the agency was honored with a Silver Wing Award of Excellence for its media relations campaign to reach NAI Columbia’s key target audiences and build awareness of its land sales operations. A robust profile of a legendary father-son duo was crafted, including an off-road, outdoor location shoot with photographer Ashley Wright, to share the untold story of what goes into building major land deals in the Midlands, resulting in a prominent cover story and more.

A Silver Wing Award of Excellence was earned for the agency’s “Level Up” social media advertising campaign for the South Carolina Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault (SCCADVASA), focused on primary prevention of sexual violence among teenagers in South Carolina. Flock and Rally created Instagram and Snapchat ads rich with Gen-Z language that mimicked the look of the viral online game “Among Us,” meeting or exceeding industry averages in metrics such as social media cost-per-click, cost-per-swipe, impressions and website clicks.

A Mercury Award of Merit was presented for The COMET’s “Don’t Miss Your Shot” campaign, which was designed to educate the public about the regional transit agency’s free transportation service to COVID-19 vaccine sites. This campaign developed by Flock and Rally included the creation of a new tagline, messaging and brand visuals, an executional advertising and email marketing strategy and much more.

Mercury Awards recognize public relations programs and campaigns, and Silver Wing Awards recognize outstanding tactics used in public relations. AAF of the Midlands ADDY Awards

A Silver Addy Award in Print Advertising for Branded Content and Entertainment was granted for the Soda Cap Connector coloring book, “Adventures with Pop,” created for The COMET. This 16-page marketing collateral piece helped showcase some of downtown Columbia’s key attractions. From the Main Street District to the River District and Five Points to the State House; “Pop” and friends guide the readers through the city, highlighting The COMET as a fun and friendly transit system.

The agency was awarded a second Silver ADDY Award in Illustration for Elements of Advertising for its 2021 integrated communications and marketing campaign for the South Carolina State Fair, “It’s Your Moment.” This campaign highlighted the exciting moments that people experience while visiting the state’s largest annual event. From winning a prize for your child, snapping Instagram-worthy posts while on the chair lift and taking a bite from a warm chocolate chip cookie to catching baby chicks hopping to the top of their little water slide, the campaign’s illustrations evoke the nostalgic feelings of joy and wonder for which hundreds of thousands of visitors return year after year.

The American Advertising Awards is one of the industry’s largest creative competitions, attracting nearly 35,000 professional and student entries each year.

“Our team works in close cooperation with our clients to help them to reach the goals that advance their missions in a concrete, measurable way,” says McNeely. “We share these awards with our clients and feel grateful for the continued opportunity to earn their trust.”
