Google is bringing its Online Safety Roadshow back to South Carolina with two assemblies designed to help students build safer, healthier, and more responsible relationships with technology.

The interactive programs will teach students important online-safety skills, including how to create strong passwords, protect their personal information, recognize potential online threats, and treat others with kindness and respect online. Google representatives and local officials will also discuss how digital well-being affects children and their communities.

The first assembly will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, September 18, at Blythewood Middle School, located at 2351 Longtown Road East in Blythewood. Scheduled participants include state Rep. Kambrell Garvin, Richland School District Two Superintendent Dr. Kim D. Moore, Blythewood Mayor Sloan J. Griffin, and representatives from Google.

A second assembly will begin at 10:45 a.m. Monday, September 21, at Liberty STEAM Charter School, located at 1057 Broad Street in Sumter. South Carolina House Speaker Murrell Smith Jr. and Google representatives are scheduled to participate.

The assemblies are part of Google’s broader initiative to empower young people with the knowledge and practical tools they need to remain safe, secure, and productive while using the internet and other digital technology.
