High School Girls to Shop and Rally for College Tour

Charleston, SC – Saturday, September 24, high school girls can shop at the Citadel Mall and join the rally for the No Boys Allowed College Tour. The NBA Pep Rally, will be the official kickoff for the tour and one of the newest girl’s only movement.

Led by four Charlestonians, NBA teaches high school girls about self-awareness and empowerment while giving them the opportunity to explore Historically Black Colleges & Universities.  

April 10-12, 2017, No Boys Allowed will travel to HBCUS in Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina during the scheduled spring break holiday for Charleston, Dorchester, and Berkeley county school districts. 

“We are extremely excited about the No Boys Allowed College Tour,” Kara P. Simmons, NBA Co-Founder expressed.  “As advocates for higher education and [women’s] empowerment we know this opportunity is unique and innovative.” 

The NBA Pep Rally will be held next to Footlocker and the Dakota Watch Company. From noon until 4 p.m., high school girls (ages 14-18) can meet the founders, enjoy sweet treats, and party under the sounds of DJ HuggaB.

The event is hosted by FoKAS Photography Services, Lowcountry Showers, Courtnay “The Poet” Coan, and Stephanie Ramsey. NBA has called out to HBCU students/alumna to the rally in their favorite school gear and/or colors. Parents are strongly encouraged to accompany their daughters to learn more about the college tour and NBA’s mission. “Our goal is to leave your daughters with wisdom, and memories to better themselves and their futures,” Simmons added.
