(Columbia, SC) – The highly anticipated Jam Room Music Festival (JRMF) is set to return to Columbia’s Main Street District on Saturday, October 26. Presented by the Jam Room Foundation, with support from the City of Columbia and Richland County, this free festival celebrates its 11th year with a full day of performances featuring a mix of local, regional, and national talent.
The festival, located at the corner of Main and Hampton streets, promises to bring an eclectic lineup to two stages, ensuring a vibrant atmosphere for all attendees. Headlining the event will be the Brooklyn-based band Real Estate, known for their latest album Daniel produced by GRAMMY-winning producer Daniel Tashian. Fresh off their European tour, Real Estate will take the stage in Columbia, capping off a day filled with standout performances.
Athens-based indie rock band of Montreal will also perform, bringing their distinct sound back to the city after headlining past Columbia venues. This year, they are touring in support of their 19th full-length album Lady on the Cusp. Additionally, Ted Leo and the Pharmacists will commemorate the 20th anniversary of their acclaimed album Shake the Sheets with a full-album performance.
For families, Secret Agent 23 Skidoo, a GRAMMY-winning act for “Best Children’s Recording,” will kick off the festival with a special family hour from 12-1 p.m. Local acts, such as Charleston-based Daddy’s Beemer and Columbia’s own Moses and the Wilderness, will showcase South Carolina’s thriving music scene.
The Jam Room Music Festival also continues its tradition of offering more than just music. Attendees can enjoy local food vendors, merchandise booths, and beverages from WeCo Bottle and Beer Garden. The festival’s official artwork, created by artist Zachary Hobbs, will be available for purchase starting August 30.
Festival-goers can also participate in a series of partner events in the days leading up to the festival, including performances by numbtongue, David Torn, and J. Robbins at various Columbia venues. The JRMF After-Party at Art Bar will feature a Guided by Voices cover band, Hot Freaks, for those looking to extend the festivities into the night.
Now in its 11th year, the Jam Room Music Festival continues to provide a platform for emerging artists and nationally renowned acts while fostering Columbia’s cultural growth.
