(Columbia, SC) – One year ago, Columbia Mayor Daniel Rickenmann, with the support of City Council, officially proclaimed February 18 as Jayme Hill’s Kidz Kindness Day in Columbia. What began as a citywide recognition of a young leader’s commitment to kindness is now expanding beyond borders.
During the one-year anniversary celebration of Kidz Kindness Day, held at the Lourie Center, it was announced that Jayme will be attending the Global Ascent, a planned international event led by Warren Berger, the Guinness Book of World Records holder known for climbing the highest mountains on multiple continents. The Global Ascent is scheduled to take place in Tanzania and will center on leadership, perseverance, and world peace, including a Mount Kilimanjaro climb.
The anniversary celebration at the Lourie Center brought together seniors and supporters in the spirit of intergenerational connection. Jayme spent time with members and handed out gifts, continuing her tradition of showing that kindness is not just spoken, it is practiced.
As part of the anniversary celebration, Jayme also released a video message across social media announcing the upcoming Kidz Kindness Clubhouse Anthem, scheduled for release in the summer of 2026. The anthem will continue to support and expand the Kidz Kindness initiative, reinforcing the message that kindness, respect, and good manners are values young leaders can proudly embrace.
Online, the celebration extended across social media, with community members, celebrities, and supporters recognizing the growth of the Kidz Kindness movement through Jayme Hill’s Kidz Kindness Clubhouse Facebook page.
What started as a commitment to kindness at home and in school is now growing into a global effort to spread kindness, respect, and good manners across generations and across borders.
