Kick-Off Event for SC Cornbread Festival on Friday

The NOMA District Announces Event to Jump Start Festivities Before the Main Festival

(Columbia, SC) – The North Columbia Business Association (NCBA)/North Main (NOMA) District is hosting a Kick-Off for the South Carolina Cornbread Festival to garner excitement for the event. The Kick-Off event will take place this Friday, April 21st, 2023 from 6 pm – 8 pm at Hot Headz Columbia located at 2720 N. Main Street in Downtown Columbia.

“We are excited to host a Kick-Off event this year to get folks excited about the South Carolina Cornbread Festival,” says Sabrina Odom Edwards, Executive Director of NCBA/NOMA. “We thought this would be a great way to bring people down to our district and highlight one of our newly opened restaurants while highlighting some activities that they will experience at the Cornbread Festival.”

Hosted by comedian Timmy Tim, with music from DJ Steele of TruBlu Entertainment, there will be a myriad of fun activities the whole family can enjoy including:

·      Line dancing complete with a contest

·      Cornbread trivia

·      Cornbread eating contest

·      A cornbread prize drop game

·      Cornbread scooter races

·      Prizes, surprises and more!

This year’s South Carolina Cornbread Festival will take place at 2847 N. Main Street in Downtown Columbia in the grassy area in front of the NOMA Community Garden bordered by Anthony Avenue, Drayton and Newman Streets and River Drive. A complete festival map can be found on
