(Hopkins, SC) — The Kingville Historical Foundation will continue its annual celebration of Lower Richland history with a free Kingville Historical Bus Tour on Saturday, May 16, 2026.
The free tour will begin with loading at 8:30 a.m. at the Garners Ferry Sports Complex, located at 8620 Garners Ferry Road in Hopkins. The bus tour is scheduled to return at 1 p.m.
According to the Kingville Historical Foundation, the tour will take participants through several historically significant communities and landmarks, including Congaree National Park, the Harriet Barber House, Hopkins, Gadsden, Eastover and Kingville.
Participants will also exit the bus at Cook’s Mountain for an in-depth guided discussion on the history and legacy of the Goodwill Slave Plantation.
The Kingville Historical Foundation, which is celebrating its 16th year, says the event is designed to bring families, friends and neighbors together to learn more about the history of the Lower Richland community.
The bus tour is free, but participants are encouraged to reserve their seats through Eventbrite by searching “Kingville Tour.”
The celebration will continue on Saturday, June 13, 2026, with the foundation’s annual outdoor fundraiser concert at Wilson Lake House, located at 1032 George Wilson Blvd. in Gadsden. Gates will open at 5:30 p.m. The concert will feature live music, food and entertainment, with performances by Tonio Armani, Grand Bandz, Gene Ervin, Money Train, Unisoghn, Pynk Beard and others. Tickets for the concert can be purchased through Eventbrite by searching “Kingville Fest.”
