Mayor Steve Benjamin Endorses Adair Ford Boroughs

Columbia Mayor Steve Benjamin has announced his endorsement of Democrat Adair Ford Boroughs, Congressional candidate in South Carolina’s 2nd District.

Benjamin, who is also President of the United States Conference of Mayors, made his endorsement official at a happy hour he hosted for Ford Boroughs on Thursday, September 26th in downtown Columbia.

“Adair has spent her career rallying and championing the issues of everyday folks. We need a champion like Adair in Washington,” Mayor Benjamin said. “Getting to know Adair, who was raised in the 2nd district, I see the daughter of a public school teacher and cabinet maker who graduated at the top of her class from grade school to law school. I see a leader who has fought for what was right at the Department of Justice, where she stood up for the American people against corporations and millionaires who cheated on their taxes. I see a woman who returned to the community she loves to raise her two young daughters and to continue to serve the people. Adair is a passionate leader and bridge builder who will fight for the needs of everyone, not just a few. Adair has my full support and I can’t wait to see how hard she will work, and what she will accomplish for the people in the 2nd district, and those of us right here in Columbia.”

“Mayor Benjamin continues to have an incredible impact on the city of Columbia,” Ford Boroughs said. “He cares deeply about the people of this district, and the people of his city. I’m truly honored to have his support. I look forward to working with Mayor Benjamin throughout my campaign and beyond to get things done for the people of the 2nd district.”

This is the third notable endorsement for Ford Boroughs since August. She has also been endorsed by Columbia City Councilwoman and Mayor Pro Tem Tameika Isaac Devine, and by Ironworkers Regional Local Union #846, which has over 2,000 members. To learn more about Adair Ford Boroughs, visit www.AdairForCongress.com
