As President and on behalf of the Columbia Branch NAACP, we condemn any mistreatment of any human being, we are keeping track and our eyes open for and in defense of these types of issues. We too, will collaborate with law enforcements and others that are walking towards the Field of the RESURRECTION OF PEACE! We ask that you join us and others to “TAKE BACK OUR COUNTRY!” and be in GOOD TROUBLE. We are encouraging the youth of our city and state, to be of good courage and walk the paths that have/are and will be created for them.
As an African American woman, I am disappointed, sadden and frustrated in the malicious actions that have been taking place during this the COVID PANDEMIC; as it pertains to the recent shootings here in Richland County, the barbaric upcoming firing squad execution, the Open Carry law that was passed, the ignorance that Senator Lindsey Graham displays nationally, the follow my leader attitude that Senator Tim Scott has (i.e. Lindsey Graham), and most of all the deaths of our BABIES.
Where and when will it stop. Just when you think of possible solutions, they are not able to get off the ground good because of more issues or crimes being committed
Just two weeks ago, I fell victim of a home invasion and the perpetrator was in my home when I arrived. I was saved by the burglar’s ignorance. Thank you to the RCSD, for the speedy interaction and to the judge that denied bond.
We all have become victims of the senseless decisions made via some of our politicians and increasing gun violence in our communities. We are in constant prayer for the local families of victims, Law enforcers, perpetrators, and for National healing.
As I was trying to celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus, I was praying for a Resurrection of Peace. I received a text that confirmed my prayers from Bishop Ronnie E. Brailsford that stated,
“# REJOICE! JESUS CHRIST HAS RISEN; BECAUSE HE LIVES, WE CAN FACE TOMORROW, BECAUSE HE LIVES ALL FEAR IS GONE, BECAUSE HE LIVES LIFE IS WORTH LIVING!”
#WE ARE DONE DYING, # STILL WE RISE, FIGHTING FORWARD
Yours in Peace, Oveta Glover
