Pontiac Solar LLC announces plans to construct a solar farm in Eastover, South Carolina. The company is planning on investing $112.5 million to develop a tract along Pine Thicket Road for the 75-megawatt installation. Once operational, the farm is expected to produce enough energy to support County and State’s energy needs.
“Pontiac Solar LLC looks forward to launching this newest solar site in South Carolina. We’re looking forward to contributing to the economic success and sustainability of Richland County and the state,” comments the Project Manager of Pontiac Solar LLC.
The project was approved during a third reading Tuesday night and represents a rare and significant opportunity for Richland County to expand its utility-scale commercial solar presence.
