The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Charleston District (Corps) intends to prepare a Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) to assess the potential social, economic, and environmental effects of the proposed South Carolina Highway 22 Extension Project (SAC-2024-00107) by the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT). The Corps will hold a series of public meetings to present and discuss the draft purpose and need being prepared as part of the DEIS. Drop-in style meetings will be held May 12–May 15 from 4 pm–6 pm at the following locations:
