Purple Heart Recipient Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) James Broome III To Speak At Upcoming Cayce-West Columbia Rotary Club Meeting

(Cayce) Lt. Colonel Broome will be the guest speaker for the Cayce-West Columbia Rotary Club Meeting on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at 1:00 p.m.

During his 23 year Air Force career and while stationed at Luke Air Force Base in Phoenix Arizona, Lt Col Broome commanded one of the Air Force largest maintenance squadrons of nearly 1,000 men and women. His presentation Tuesday will center around his experience while assigned as a military advisor to the Royal Saudi Air Force in Saudi Arabia when he was wounded but survived a terrorist attack carried out by the terrorist group Al Qaeda in which 22 people was killed.

Lt. Col. James L. Broome III is a native of Winnsboro, SC and a graduate of Winnsboro High School. His military decorations include the Air Force Commendation Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal and the Purple Heart.

The meeting will be held at the Brookland Baptist Church Banquet and Conference Center. Lunch is included and the meeting is scheduled to last an hour.
