South Carolina— The “Reframing the Narrative” Campaign, launched through the South Carolina Minority Voters Coalition initiative, is an independent grassroots effort in South Carolina led by a coalition of minority-owned, independent, and non-traditional media outlets. This campaign aims to reshape the political discourse by amplifying diverse voices and supporting Vice President Harris’s candidacy for President of the United States.

The South Carolina Minority Voters Coalition, initiated by the Minority INFO Network and its media partners, is dedicated to providing comprehensive journalism and information on laws, policies, and legislation affecting the election process in South Carolina, with a specific focus on those impacting minority voters. Our goal is to increase minority voter participation, encourage involvement across all political parties, and ensure a fair and equitable electoral process statewide.

The South Carolina Minority Voters Coalition is proud to support Vice President Harris because she is the candidate most committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. Her leadership recognizes the vital role media plays in informing the public on critical issues, and she values it as an essential part of the community—especially the importance of diverse voices in media. Unlike others who see the media as the enemy of the state, she understands that a well-informed public is crucial for democracy. Her commitment to these values aligns with our mission to keep communities informed and empowered.

Given that South Carolina is a traditionally Republican state, our campaign also emphasizes the importance of raising awareness about down-ballot candidates, particularly those running for congressional seats. If Vice President Harris is elected, it is crucial that she has the support of a Democratic House to effectively implement her agenda. Therefore, our initiatives will also focus on educating voters about these candidates and the critical role they play in advancing the goals of the administration.

South Carolina, often overlooked by the DNC during general elections due to its traditionally Republican voting patterns, presents a unique opportunity for Democratic and independent voters committed to justice and democracy to rally support for Vice President Harris. This initiative seeks to engage voters and ensure her message resonates throughout the state.

The campaign is dedicated to holding media accountable for disseminating false rumors, negative stereotypes, and sexist narratives about Vice President Harris. Given her multiracial heritage, we emphasize the importance of elevating minority voices to spread accurate information and counter misinformation.
