(Columbia, SC) – February 3rd – State Representative Jermaine Johnson (D-Hopkins) has announced today that he plans to seek to represent the newly consolidated District 70 seat which will encompass all of the Lower Richland Community. This seat, currently held by State Representative Wendy Brawley, is one of many seats that were consolidated due to the redistricting process during this session. Rep. Johnson had this to say:
“Nobody wanted this situation. It is extremely unfortunate that we were put into this situation where our community members and family members will be forced to choose who they want to represent them going forward. I believe no matter the outcome of this upcoming primary, our community will be headed in the right direction. I hope my community believes in me enough to send me back to Columbia to work on their behalf.” For information on Rep. Johnson’s campaign go to Johnsonforsc.com.
