(Columbia, SC) – State Representative Marvin Pendarvis (D-Charleston) filed a bill on Monday that would require DHEC to issue two at-home COVID tests to every South Carolina resident who wants them.

“With the record surge in COVID cases nationwide, we must improve our testing capacity,” Pendarvis said. “We can’t get a hold on this wave of the pandemic until people can get tested quickly and efficiently. I am filing this legislation because many South Carolina residents are struggling to find a test and get results in a timely manner.”

Once the full text and number of the bill are available, a follow-up advisory will be sent.
