(Columbia, SC) — The Richland County Neighborhood Council (RCNC) has achieved a significant milestone by securing the host city designation for the 2024 Neighborhoods, USA (NUSA) Conference. This marks the first time the prestigious event will be held in the Carolinas.
The NUSA Board, in a unanimous decision at a Special Called Meeting on August 31, endorsed RCNC’s bid, paving the way for the City of Columbia and Richland County to take center stage from May 22-25, 2024.
The campaign to secure the conference was fortified by unwavering support from key figures. South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster lent his endorsement in a heartfelt letter, while the Richland County Council issued a Proclamation of Support. Additionally, the Columbia City Council unanimously passed a Resolution of support, emphasizing the community’s collective commitment to making this event a resounding success.
To give the community a clearer understanding of the conference’s scope and how individuals can actively participate, the RCNC Executive Board invites everyone to an informational session on Thursday, September 21, 2023, from 6 to 7 PM. The session will take place in the esteemed Richland County Council Chambers, located at 2020 Hampton Street, Columbia.
