(Columbia, SC) – Richland County Public Education Partners (RCPEP) is excited to announce the Literacy Leap Book Fair, a free, family-friendly event designed to encourage children to read throughout the summer and help families build robust home libraries. Join us on Saturday, May 31, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the R2i2 Conference Center, 763 Fashion Drive, Columbia, SC 29229.
The Literacy Leap Book Fair will feature a wide selection of books for all ages, interactive reading activities, and meet-and-greet opportunities with local authors. Families with K-12 children can explore engaging stories, enjoy live readings, and participate in literacy games – all while stocking up on books to keep kids motivated and learning during the summer months.
“Our goal is to ensure every child in Richland County has the resources he or she needs to develop a lifelong love of reading,” said Alana Grant, Executive Director, RCPEP. “The Literacy Leap Book Fair creates a fun, inclusive space where families can discover new books, connect with local authors, and take meaningful steps towards building their own home libraries. We want to combat that summer slide and encourage youth to maintain academic progress through reading.”
Local authors who would like to participate are welcome. Reserve a vendor space for $50.00, which includes a table and two chairs. This is a wonderful opportunity for authors to showcase their work, connect with readers, and contribute to a culture of literacy in Richland County. We ask that all vendors price their books at $15 or less to ensure affordability for families.
