Richland Library Hosts Candid Conversation with Dr. Cornel West

American Philosopher and Grammy-Award Winning Professor joins Richland Library for A Year of Black History.

Richland Library is providing an opportunity for our community to hear from Grammy-Award-winning professor and American philosopher, Dr. Cornel West. Join us for a Candid Conversation with Dr. Cornel West from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m., Sunday, March 6. Please register to attend this online program, which is free and open to the public.

Dr. West is the Dietrich Bonhoeffer Chair at Union Theological Seminary. He is the former Professor of the Practice of Public Philosophy at Harvard University and Professor Emeritus at Princeton University. Dr. West has written 20 books and has a passion for communicating to a vast variety of publics in order to keep alive the legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr. – a legacy of telling the truth and bearing witness to love and justice.

Facilitating the conversation will be Dr. Todd Shaw, 2021 Interim Associate Dean of Diversity Equity, and Inclusion and Social Sciences and distinguished faculty member at the University of South Carolina.
