Columbia, SC — Richland Library invites the community to experience the opening of Patton Blackwell: Now and Then, a captivating exhibition showcasing the work of acclaimed veteran artist Patton Blackwell, on Friday, July 24, from 6:30–8:30 p.m. at Richland Library Main, (1431 Assembly Street).
Now and Then presents a remarkable collection of large-scale acrylic paintings on linen and canvas created between 1989 and 2026 in Brazil, Italy, California and South Carolina. Featuring more than a dozen works, including a monumental triptych, the exhibition offers a compelling look at the evolution of Blackwell’s artistic vision while exploring themes of time, memory, place and perception.
Guests are invited to enjoy complimentary refreshments, meet the artist and celebrate the opening of this inspiring exhibition. Patton Blackwell: Now and Then will remain on display at Richland Library Main from July 24 through September 3, 2026.
