Rock Ministries International Collecting Donations to Aid Hurricane Florence Victims along South Carolina coastal regions

Hurricane Florence hit South Carolina’s coastal regions hard. Horry County’s cities of Conway, Loris, Longs, Wampee, and the Bucksport area were flooded with unprecedented water levels. Many of our neighbors in these townships don’t have the resources to recover from the catastrophic flooding that all but destroyed some of these communities.

To support the residents most impacted by Hurricane Florence, Rock Ministries International and affiliates are collecting non-perishable food items, baby items, toiletries, and cash donations.

“As you look at the imagery of the destruction that hit the majority Black Township in the historic Bucksport Community, you will see the homes, ditches, and streets full of feces and mold at incorrigible levels. Many of the other small townships in the areas along the coast have experienced similar levels of devastation, the town is currently collecting funds to be able to hire an experienced pressure washer team and other professionals to clean the area and all the impurities” said Pastor Stephen Brown.

“It is our hope,” Pastor Brown continued, “that hearts will open to assist us in the rebuilding of these communities. Our desire is to utilize the men and women of these communities, who have the trades and skills, to help rebuild their respective areas and places of abode, by paying them requisite wages through the goodwill donations of those who sincerely see the need to restore the self-esteem, self-respect, and sense of purpose to those whose hearts, homes, and finances have been broken by such a devastating tragedy.”

Contributions will be put to use to give life back to these communities and pride back to those who reside there donors will be kept abreast of every new development in the church’s joint rebuilding efforts with these communities. Donors and members of the community at large are encouraged to visit work sites and see their resources at work.
