(Columbia, SC) — South Carolina Association of Community Economic Development awarded SC UpLift Community Outreach $300,000 to rehabilitate homes of older adults, age 62 and over, that own their home and need repairs.
On behalf of the SC Department of Commerce the South Carolina Association for Community Economic Development committed up to $300,000 to individuals or families that own their home but have low-to-moderate income that need repairs. SC UpLift Community Outreach will continue to work diligently in these rural areas to allow seniors to age safely.
We are honored to continue working and assist the seniors of Union, Fairfield, and Chester counties! This SCCED award allows SC UpLift the ability to help those in need of essential repairs to keep them safe in their own home. We received funding last year from another entity to help this same population in these areas and there was such a need, we developed a waiting list. We are so grateful that SC Community Economic Development Fund is allowing us to reach more people and further expanding our assistance! One of our fundamental goals is to improve the communities of South Carolina and ensure that individuals and families in them are secure.
