(Columbia, SC) – SC Whitmore School (SCWS), an online public charter high school based in Columbia, is excited to announce the school is now NCAA approved.

SCWS Principal Ebone’ Adams said, “We were excited to learn about our NCAA approval. This has been a deal breaker for potential incoming families with student athletes who are looking for that flexibility while receiving a high quality education.”

This new credential adds to the overall appeal to the school because NCAA approval means that any student seeking to become a college athlete can now enroll at SC Whitmore to meet the requirements for NCAA certification.

Students will now have the option to attend SC Whitmore School and have complete access to the benefits of high quality virtual education in South Carolina while also potentially training for the competitive collegiate sport of their dreams.

Executive Director Kim Dunbar said, “We pride ourselves in being a school that serves students all over the state of South Carolina and being able to offer courses that meet the needs of our students and their goals. We were thrilled to learn that we received NCAA certification so we could continue offering courses that support our student’s pathways.”
