(Columbia, SC) – Scout Motors Inc. (“Scout Motors”), formed to craft the next generation of all-electric trucks and rugged SUVs, announced today that it has opened its new Columbia Connection Center on the ground floor of the company’s temporary offices in the First Base Building of the BullStreet District.

Through exhibits and displays, this new space will allow the community to learn more about the history of the original Scout® vehicles, as well as Scout Motors’ vision for the future and progress as construction work continues on the company’s Production Center in Blythewood.

“We are thrilled to open the doors of Scout Motors’ new Columbia Connection Center and welcome in our local community here in South Carolina to interact and engage with our team,” said Scout Motors Chief Production Officer Jan Spies. “As construction progresses on the site of our Production Center, this valuable asset will serve as a central hub for the general public to learn more about both the heritage and future of these iconic vehicles and our innovative company.”

The opening coincided with Opening Night for the Columbia Fireflies at Segra Park. Normal operating hours for the Columbia Connection Center will be Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and by appointment only all other days.

This new community hub follows the nomenclature of the other key Scout Motors facilities: the Production Center in Blythewood and the Innovation Center in Novi, Michigan.

Scout Motors opened its first South Carolina office in Columbia’s BullStreet District in November. The Columbia office will serve as the home base for Scout Motors’ growing South Carolina-based team while the company’s new Production Center undergoes construction in nearby Blythewood.

Scout Motors continues to ramp up local hiring in preparation for the launch of its manufacturing operations, with nearly 75 employees now on the ground in South Carolina. Current career opportunities can be found on the Scout Motors careers page, where dozens of positions are available. Potential candidates can indicate their interest in future manufacturing positions by submitting their information at scoutmotors.sctechjobs.com.
