(Columbia, SC) – Senator Tameika Isaac Devine will host a public information session about the South Carolina Education Scholarship Trust Fund (ESTF) Program on Thursday, January 8 from 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM at the Keenan High School Theatre, 361 Pisgah Church Road, Columbia, SC 29203. This event is free and open to the public.
ESTF Program is administered by the South Carolina Department of Education and allows qualifying South Carolina families to apply for a scholarship. According to the SC Department of Education, the award amount for the 2025-2026 school year was $7,500. The 2026-2027 school year will award $7,634.
Special guest Meka Childs, Director of Education Choice and Family Engagement at the South Carolina Department of Education, will join Senator Devine to provide a comprehensive overview of the ESTF program and walk families through the application process for the 2026-2027 school year.
During the event, attendees will learn:

· How and when to apply
· Answers to frequently asked questions about the program
“The Education Scholarship Trust Fund Program is designed to expand educational opportunities for South Carolina residents by providing scholarships to help families with K-12 students. We want to ensure that parents have clear, accurate information and real choices when it comes to their children’s education,” said Senator Tameika Isaac Devine, District 19. “This program can be a powerful tool, but only if people understand how it works and how to access it. This session is about breaking down the application, answering questions, and making sure no family is left out of the conversation. Join us as we help make our state more informed and better educated.”
This event is free and open to the public, and all are encouraged to attend. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions, share experiences, and learn more about educational opportunities.
