(Columbia, SC) – The Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina (SCFSC) today announced a promotion as well as the addition of a new team member.

Chynna A. Philips has been promoted to Senior Director of Policy and Research. In her new role, Chynna will lead all policy priorities that will further the overall mission of the Foundation, bring awareness to systems-level poverty drivers, and ultimately support the Foundation’s goal of reducing poverty in South Carolina.

“Our Board of Trustees and staff are incredibly grateful to Chynna for her passion and drive to make positive change happen in our state,” said Donna Waites, Vice President of Programs. “Under Chynna’s leadership, we have deepened our policy, advocacy, and research efforts which, we believe, will ultimately play a vital role in reducing poverty in S.C. This promotion will increase her responsibilities, but is also evidence of our belief in Chynna and this work.”

Chynna has served as the Policy and Research Director for the last two years. This new role is a well-deserved acknowledgment of the strides Chynna has made leading the Foundation’s public policy and advocacy work. Her expanded role will now include the supervision of the Foundation’s newest hire, the Community Outreach Coordinator.
