Richland Library Main and local artists partner for Small Mart: A Market in Miniature and Pocket Places: A Tiny Art Show to bring a whimsical idea to life.
On Saturday, August 29, 2026, from 11 a.m.–3 p.m., artists and makers will gather at Richland Library Main for the second annual Small Mart, a celebration of tiny art and a handmade market where nothing exceeds four inches in size.
Co-organized by local sculptors Caroline Clark (Revisionist Studio) and Caroline Fields (Soapbox Miniatures), Small Mart features free art activities and games for all ages, tiny tarot card readings, and a selection of miniature food offerings in addition to the handmade market.
New this year is Finders Keepers, a tiny art scavenger hunt throughout the library, where seekers can keep one piece of art that they find.
Artists from throughout North and South Carolina will be joining local Midlands makers for a diverse lineup of creators working in mediums ranging from bookbinding, terrariums, crochet, painting, ceramics, and more.
An accompanying gallery exhibition of tiny art, Pocket Places, is on view in the Main Gallery from August 7–September 4, with an artist reception during Small Mart at 11 a.m. on August 29.
The artwork on display in Pocket Places includes works in ceramic, polymer clay, painting, fiber arts, printing, and more.
