The North Columbia Business Association Names New Chairman


Columbia, SC- The North Columbia Business Association (NCBA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Veronica Rodriquez as new chairman. NCBA will host a press conference at 1013 Duke Avenue beginning at noon.

Veronica Rodriguez, President and CEO of Community Service Provider, has over 20 years of experience in banking and financial management.  She served as a founding executive officer and cashier of Sumter National Bank for over five years.  In addition, she has managed Community Assistance Provider for the past 12 years, growing the non-profit organization’s assets to over $8 million.

Mrs. Rodriguez has extensive experience in financial management, training, real estate management and development, fundraising and corporate management. Mrs. Rodriguez holds an undergraduate degree from University of Georgia and a banker’s certificate from University of South Carolina. Rodriguez is a certified Housing Counselor and a nationally certified Housing Development Finance Professional.

Mrs. Rodriquez stated, “As the economy rebounds and businesses begin thinking of expansion again, the North Columbia Business Association stands ready to insure that North Columbia is recognized as a viable and profitable place to do business. The Executive Director, the Board and I will be doing all that we can to support growth in our region and polish the “diamond in the rough” that the North Columbia corridor represents by highlighting the wonderful businesses that exist here and by attracting new and expanding businesses to the area.”.

Rodriguez has served as a volunteer with The Red Cross, Junior Achievement, Leadership Sumter and is a YWCA Twin Honoree. She has served on the Board of Directors of The Mid-Carolina Commission on Higher Education (USC Sumter), Sistercare, The Midlands Housing Trust Fund and the North Columbia Business Association.

She has been married to Luis E. Rodriguez for thirty six years and the couple has four children.
