Ryde For The Kids  – Tuesday February 4th  2014. Participate in a class For The Kids. Proceeds to go to University of South Carolina Dance Marathon benefitting Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital.

USC Dance Marathon at the University of South Carolina! (USCDM) is a student-led philanthropy that raises funds and awareness for Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital, our local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. Big Kid Science Fair – Thursday February 6th 2014. It is time to celebrate the STEM fields, not only in education, but the STEM facets that are within our leading businesses as well. South Carolina Science Academy is hosting a celebration…the Big Kid Science Fair!! Come prepared to expand your imaginations and witness the scientific innovations and STEM initiatives area businesses are using everyday to help SC run!!  With the engaging Science Gallery of the State Museum as the back-drop, come ready to enjoy an evening filled with fun, musical entertainment and STEM! Heavy hors d’oeuvres, beer and wine will be included as well!

Your attendance at our Big Kid Science Fair and support of our school will help to cover the vital gaps in our funding, which inturn will provide our students with amazing educational opportunities they could not previously afford!!

For businesses who are interested in being a part. You have the opportunity to promote your organization’s relationship to both STEM and education in an innovative way. First Thursdays on Main – Thursday February 6th 2014. The Welcome to Main Street’s First Thursday.  First Thursdays on Main is Columbia’s monthly art crawl and streetfest hosted by the Main Street merchants on the first Thursday of every month from 6 to 10 pm. This event showcases the revitalized Main Street community and includes our merchants from the Capital to Town Hall.

Grapes & Gallery (Wine Bar Grand Open) – Thursday February 6th 2014. GRAND OPENING of wine bar Thursday, February 6th. Stop by and check out the new setup and enjoy a drink. The Grapes are joining the Gallery! After almost two years of offering artist-led painting sessions, Grapes and Gallery (1113 Taylor St. behind Mast General) is introducing a wine bar to complement the existing services. Patrons will be able to purchase wine and beer while painting in the art studio or while relaxing in the upstairs bar area or downstairs lounge. In addition, Grapes and Gallery will have expanded hours (11AM-9PM Monday-Saturday). Whether you paint or not, check out the selection of wines from around the world and local craft beers. Stop in for a drink and a snack, purchase art supplies and wine from the retail offering, paint on your own in the art studio, or sign up for one of the artist-led painting sessions.
